Shamsuddin Peara: Politicians have failed the people miserably. We don't need them to act as our masters any longer. Politicians should be relieved of their responsibilities of running the state. Bangladesh needs efficient managers of the statecraft who will work under strict supervision of a highly powerful central authority that would be insulated against corruption and political pressure. We do not need new generation of blabbermouth thieves and thugs in parliament and the Ganabhaban. If we want to move along with the civilized world we must work hard to work on a new democratic system that would keep politicians away from power. Such a system must be evolved and put in place. Bangladesh can be the first country to experiment with one such novel system.
