Sharbani Datta: Sorry I am not hesitant to express my utter distaste in this new culture of 'rich influencers' who come online and sell products in live streams and charge 50k per live for JUST TALKING AND SHOWCASING products online. I have observed some of these so-called influencers- they are paid for 'talking' right? They can barely even do that. That fake accent, poor imitation, bad, ridiculous English (which is so unnecessary, what's wrong with Bangla anyway?) and then getting paid as if they're entitled to it. Many of 'em have a monthly income of 30 lakhs or more. How hideous is that?

In Bangladesh, the average salary of a graduate is less than 20k, I believe. After 4/5 years of education, sweat and tears, parents' investment most of 'em can barely meet their ends. Even our actors, musicians and artists who are supremely talented and also put their nose to the grindstone earn 1/2 lakhs per month. I genuinely want to know what input do these influencers have in the betterment of the society and in what way do they actually 'influence' us? Perhaps by walking us through the nail salon they frequent to, or the spa place where they relax on the weekends? What qualifies these scammers to earn this huge amount of money (definitely they do not earn respect which I am aware of)?

In today's time, nothing outrages me more than these shameless slaves of capitalism who literally and figuratively have no quality whatsoever other than manipulating strugglers into chasing a life that they can never have. Maybe it's time we stopped giving two hoots about these people and put them in their place, I mean they really need that heads up.
