Rumi Ahmed: Today I was listening to a young lady who is a Yale university student and a journalist/editor of Yale newspaper. From her subtle tone - it seemed she had some soft corner for Israel either through upbringing or through family in Israel. But a few of her expressed observations were very meaningful.
 
1. She mentions that among the Pro-Israeli group 100% had either family in Israel, or family fighting the war in Gaza or former IDF soldiers dual American -Israeli citizens. On the pro-Palestine side ( 90% students belong to that side) she hadn’t seen one single palestinian or Arab. Either their numbers are minuscule in Yale campus or they are afraid to identify themselves for fear of doxing. 

2. Yale disturbance started a few months ago when someone wrote “Death to Palestine” in a student dorm wall. After a few days when two students complained - admin replied that they had to respect free speech in campus. They can’t do anything about that. 3. Second disturbance started when few months later someone hanged a big banner in the main mall with the names of 11000 dead children in Gaza. The day after it was hanged - a few Yale students who were former IDF soldiers removed it. And Yale supported them. 

4. Yale admin’s biased attitudes basically pushed the majority of the students towards pro-Palestine side. Not that they used to care much about foreign policy etc.
